    Infant & Toddler Adoption

American Home Finding Association is a licensed child placing agency, finding adoptive homes for both infants and special needs children.

    A Home for Every Child

The goal of the adoption program is to find the best possible home for each child.

Applications are currently being accepted. The Agency has some general requirements for families interested in adoption. The waiting time for adoption varies depending on a case-by-case basis.

If you need further information contact

Katy Gottschalk at 641-682-3449 or 1-800-290-0876 or kgottschalk@ahfa.org

Application, along with background information and autobiography can be mailed to:
    Katy Gottschalk
    PO Box 656
    Ottumwa, IA 52501

    How to Adopt

Potential adoptive parents are placed on a numerical registry based on the order of application. Interested applicants must complete an adoption packet of forms (see links below) which includes a descriptive autobiography covering three general areas: individual/family life, marriage life (as applicable), and your interest in adopting a child. An application fee of $500.00 is also required.

After the above information is sent AHFA will review and notify you of your eligibility status. If you are found to be eligible for AHFA’s adoption program, you will be notified that your name has been placed on the registry. If you are ineligible, you will be notified and your check will be returned to you.

American Home Finding Association attempts to maintain a constant supply of approved applicants. If you need further information contact:
