Child Care

Our Program:
American Home Finding Child Care Center is a state licensed child care program serving children age’s birth to 5 years. Our center is located in the Ottumwa High School.  The primary focus of the program is to provide quality care to the children of student parents enrolled in high school.  We also accept enrollment from Ottumwa School District and American Home Finding employees.  Private pay enrollments will only be considered if space allows.  Priority enrollment is given first to student parents.

Our Staff:
Our staff consists of a Center Director, Co-Director and experienced child care assistants. Staff is dedicated to children and enjoys providing a warm and caring educational atmosphere for your young one.

Our Hours:
The center is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. We will be following the school district schedule, with our program closing for holidays, two weeks at winter break, spring break and summer break.

We Are Special:
American Home Finding ChildCare Center is dedicated to providing the best environment for children to learn and grow in.  The center voluntarily participates in the state initiated Quality Rating System (QRS).  Currently, the center has a level 4 rating.

Not only are we providing quality care to children but, we also strive to provide a network of services to all our teen parents.  Student parents are able to access our program immediately, without delay, to ensure acceptable school attendance. Our secondary goal is to assist all teen parents in successfully graduating high school.

To encourage school attendance we offer two programs to our teen parents:  Teen Literacy Program, funded by the Ottumwa Public Library and Kiwanis; as well as a Teen Pregnancy Support Group Meetings.
